TBT: I Want a Moped

Lindsey SmallwoodComment

In honor of Throwback Thursday - an oldie but a goodie. This is a song I wrote when my friends Abbie, Matt, James and I made an EP of serious sounding silly songs about things like the accessories counter at Macy's and blind dates with guys who speak Klingon.

Because lots of laughing is always worth throwing back to.

I Want a Moped

Waiting for a ride, it's raining, no one in sight

Standing all alone, helpless, without a cell phone

How do I get from here to there?

It's not fair, I'm aware - in need - and I plead...

I want a moped

I want it real bad

It's two wheels, such a deal

Such a plan for transportation

I want a moped

In Italy they have them instead of cars, but they don't go real far

In Japan you can ride one with an umbrella and a couple of friendly fellas

But here, oh here, is where I am and I've got a plan

I want a moped

I want it real bad

It's two wheels, such a deal

Such a plan for transportation

I want a moped

Can you see it?

On the open road, almost 18 miles from home

With a helmet matching the seat & gas mileage that's sweet
